User Reviews about Motorola MOTONAV TN30 4.3-Inch Bluetooth Portable GPS Navigator
I purchased this as an impulse buy at Radio Shack in Cambridge MA. I've been using a Garmin Street Pilot I3 for 2 years. My eyes are just getting too bad and I needed a bigger screen. I don't pay retail for GPS's. The refurbs and closeouts are just too good. Enter the TN30 at Radio Shack for $70. Great screen, built in Bluetooth for your cell phone that works great...don't care about map updates...most are too expensive anyway. Just throw it away in three years and buy another closeout model. Seems to know the Boston area pretty well. Fits easily into my bag. Had to rate it 5 stars at this price point. -- Go buy it at Radio Shack on sale for $70
As much as I like this product, I must let you all potential buyers know that it is a mistake to buy it.
I bought one in Dec 2008 and now it is broken, less than a year of use. There is an error about "Bluetooth connection failure" beyond which you could not progress despite resetting and all.
Worse still, there is no support by motorola for this procuct. I have spent countless hours online trying to get some answer but there is absolutely none that has to do with possible errors.
In addition, there is no way to reload or update your software or maps.
It is a shame, this is the worst supported device I have ever had and that tells me that unless its a phone stay away from motorola produts.
I wish there was enough review out there before I wasted my money buying this junk. -- Do Not BUY! No support or update possibilty.
This GPS navigation is the best system that my wife and I have own yet. I feel it is a major improvement in navigation technology. My basis for comparison are the several makes and models that my wife and I have owned through the past several years.
The voice direction are nice and clear, the screen is easy-to-read (in almost light conditions), the startup quicky aquires satelites, and the turns are given in a timely manner. The nearby feature (e.g., gas stations, shopping, etc) works well. The Bluetooth calling works seamlessly with my Motorola cellphone.
Bottomline, I would buy again and definitely recommend to others. -- a+ The best GPS navigation system yet!
