User Reviews about NS-NAV01 4.3 Inch Portable GPS System
This GPS is awesome. I had borrowed my friend's very nice Garmin Nuvi GPS and was hooked. I saw this for sale in Best Buy ($79.99#!!! so I decided to try it. And I absolutely love it! Great picture quality, features #especially for the insanely low price#, and good course calculations. Even though it was slow acquiring signal when I first turned it on #but then again, all GPS systems are because they have to download the signals) it works fast and fine now. I haven't had any problems with it at all and for the price, you can't beat this! And it works just as good as the Garmin Nuvi. :) -- Awesome
The Insignia GPS is a good entry level unit.
It has a generous 4.3 inch screen, which, is hard to find at this price point. It has millions of points of interest pre-programmed into the unit, which, is great if you are traveling and need to find a store, somewhere to eat, or a hotel.
There are two complaints I would have about this unit:
1) It is slow to find your position when it is first turned on.
2) The sound quality of the text to speech is poor.
This is a good entry level GPS. You can't expect it to fold your laundry or make you coffee at this price point, but it can and will guide you where you need to go to get them done.

I bought this unit last week. It's a simple, basic GPS with big screen, easy to read menus, and responsive keypad. Entering addresses is fast and easy, unlike my old GPS in which the battery died. The only problem is that it can take up to 60 seconds for it to aquire signal. The first time I used it, it took 5 minutes to get the signal. Also, you can't 'bookmark' current location. You have to enter the street address, hence only three stars.
Just make sure you have the latest maps and firmware. I was told that you can go to Best Buy and have the Geek Squad do it which I will do next week.
Despite it's shortcomings, at this price, it's hard to complain. -- Great GPS at a Great Price
